The dashed vertical line indicates the LD50 which is calculated to be a 10−5 dilution or 3.33 × 106 LD50/g of brain tissue. (b) RT-QuIC rates of bioassay inoculum dilutional series. The green solid curve represents the RT-QuIC amyloid formation rates (in LD50). The linear range extended from 10−4 to 10−6. A semi-fit log line was extrapolated from the linear range and used to relate y (rate of amyloid formation) to x (LD50). The equation of this line, in the form y = m log (x) + b, was used for FPE quantification displayed in Table 2. Each point represents the mean and SEM of 48 replicates derived from eight separate experiments.
