Microgravity and TRAIL stimulates fusion gene expression in preosteoclast cells.

(a) Total RNA isolated from preosteoclast cells cultured in Xg or μXg for 24 h was analyzed for OC-STAMP and DC-STAMP mRNA expression using real-time RT-PCR. (b) Real-time RT-PCR analysis of OC-STAMP and DC-STAMP mRNA expression in preosteoclast cells treated with different concentration of TRAIL (0–200 ng/ml). The mRNA expression was normalized with respect to β-actin amplification. Each bar represents the mean ± SD of three independent experiments. *Significant (P < 0.05) difference when compared to Xg or without TRAIL treatment.
