From: Individualistic weight perception from motion on a slope

Model of the participants’ behavior when perceiving weight within unfamiliar environments with complex physics.
The extreme ends represent the basis models containing physics encountered in real life, but in completely different environments: friction (0°) and air resistance (90°). The psychometric functions exhibit sinusoidal shapes corresponding to the presumption or weight assigned to each extreme. The weight decision for unfamiliar environments can be seen as the combination of inputs from the two extremes. The influence of each internal model used depended on the environment, expectations and individual experiences48,49.
