Poly(I:C) activates the chemerin pathway via a MAVS-dependent mechanism.
WT (+/+), MAVS null (−/−) or Chi3l1/YKL-40 Tg mice were given B16 melanoma cells or vehicle and treated with Poly(I:C) or its vehicle control. (a–b) The expression of chemerin and chemerin receptor (ChemR23) were evaluated 2 weeks later. The levels of chemerin protein and mRNA were evaluated by slot blot assay and qRT-PCR, respectively. (c,d) The levels of chemerin receptor and chemerin mRNA in WT and MAVS null mutant mice were evaluated by qRT-PCR. (e) The levels of chemerin were evaluated by slot blot assay.
