Magnified images in the boxed regions are shown in lower panels. An arrowhead indicates a Bak cluster. Scale bars: 3 μm (top) or 500 nm (bottom). (b) Line-intensity profile of a white line in (a). The cluster size was estimated by calculating full width half maximum (FWHM) of the profile. (c) Ripley’s K analysis for measuring the degree of the spatial distribution of Bak molecules. L(r)-r was plotted as a function of a radial scale, r. The analyses were performed in the boxed regions (480 nm × 800 nm) of a heathy cell and an apoptotic cell. An arrowhead indicates a Bak cluster.
