(a–h) The DAS were obtained from global fitting of the wavelength-resolved fluorescence decays recorded at 10 K with a sum of three exponentials. The relative amplitudes of the individual decay components (ultrafast: black; fast: blue; slow: red) from these fits are depicted for each wavelength channel, with time constants as given in the insets. The black, blue and red curves are included to guide the eye. Superimposed to the DAS are the corresponding fluorescence emission spectra (magenta) of the protein variants measured at room temperature.
