From: Definition of a Skp2-c-Myc Pathway to Expand Human Beta-cells

Skp2 induces c-Myc downstream target cell cycle genes.
Dispersed human islets from normal donors were transduced with control adenovirus (“CTL”) or with Ad.cdk6 and cyclin D3 (C6 + D3), or with Ad.cdk6 and cyclin D3 and Skp2 (C6 + D3 + skp2) or with Ad.cdk6 and cyclin D3 and c-Myc (C6 + D3 + c-Myc). The transduced islet cells were then harvested three days after transduction and the mRNA was extracted. Real-time qPCR was performed. Data for the D-, A, E- and B-cyclins, cdk1, 2, 4 and 6, cdc25a, E2F1, 2 and 3, p15, p21, p27kip1, p57, Skp2 and c-Myc are shown. Experiments were repeated on five to seven human islet preps.
