(A) Alignment of the conserved 47 amino acid DM domain of Dsx proteins of five coleopteran species (Gc, Gnatocerus cornutus; Tc, Tribolium castaneum; Td, Trypoxylus dichotomus; Ot, Onthophagus taurus; Cm, Cyclommatus metallifer) and other holometabolous insects (Bm, Bombyx mori; Dm, Drosophila melanogaster). Amino acids conserved among all seven species are highlighted in gray.
