Intracellular NO was detected in wild type and knockout mutants of NCU05185, NCU05006, NCU04077, and NCU01086 homologous to NOS in human and other fungi. NO was detected using DAF-FM diacetate in fungal samples incubated for 16 hours after conidiation was induced. Left and right of each picture indicate images captured in optical and fluorescent (465–495 nm excitation filter) mode, respectively.
