Effects of CoQ10 on the serum IL-1β and IL-10 in high salt-induced hypertensive rats.

ELISA results showed that HS diet rats had higher level of serum IL-1β (A) while lower level of IL-10 (B). 15-week of CoQ10 administration by gavage at the dose of 10 mg/kg significantly decreased the expression of serum IL-1β and increased the level of IL-10 compared with the NS rats (P < 0.05, n = 7). Values are expressed as means ± SE. *P < 0.05 vs control (NS + oil or NS + CoQ10), †P < 0.05, HS + CoQ10 vs HS + oil.
