Statins inhibit YAP transcriptional activity under hypoxia both in vitro and in vivo.
(A) The protein level of phosphorylated YAP-S127 was detected by western blot analysis. Three HCC cell lines, HepG2, Bel-7402 and SMMC -7721, were treated with atorvastatin (1, 3, 10 μM) under hypoxia for 24 h.(B) Representative images of immunofluorescence analysis of YAP in HepG2 cells. Cells were treated with or without atorvastatin (10 μM) under hypoxia for 24 h. Scale bar, 30 μm. The percentage of nuclear YAP population of each groups was displayed.
