Activated CD4+ T-lymphocytes transduced with the empty vector (pLKO.1) or vectors leading to the expression of the indicated shRNAs were infected with HIV-1 particles carrying the luciferase gene in place of nef and pseudotyped with X4-tropic HIV-1 Env (A), R5-tropic HIV-1 Env (B), or VSV-G (C). Luciferase activity in target cells was measured 48 h after infection. Values represent mean ± SEM of 5 or more independent transductions and are expressed relative to luciferase activity observed in non-transduced (NT) cells. *P < 0.05, **P < 0.01, and ***P < 0.001 versus sh-SCRAM (Mann-Whitney test).
