YPFS increases anti-tumor activity of DDP in A549/DDP bearing nude mice.
Lung cancer was induced in nude mice by implanting A549/DDP lung cancer cells subcutaneously in the flank of mice. The tumor was allowed to grow at ~80 mm3. Thereafter, DDP (3 mg/kg) in the absence, or presence of YPFS (4 g/kg), was administered. (A) The body weight was checked 2–3 times per week over a period of 40 days. (B) The mean tumor volume in each group after drug treatment. (C) Tumors excised out of the mice at day 40. (D) Mean tumor weight in each group at the end of treatment. Data represents Mean ± SEM of six mice per group. *p < 0.05 and **p < 0.01 vs control; #p < 0.05 and ##p < 0.01 vs DDP-treated group.
