Mice were fed a western-type diet for 4 weeks and were treated with tamoxifen (TAM), raloxifene (RAL) or vehicle (Control) for the last 10 days. (a) Cholesterol, HDL-cholesterol and triacylglycerol (TG) serum concentrations. (b) Hepatic free cholesterol (FC), cholesteryl ester (CE) and triacylglycerol concentrations. Data are mean ± SEM of 5 mice per group. *P < 0.05, **P < 0.01. (c) Histological stainings with Oil Red O for nonpolar lipids and hematoxylin in liver sections.
