From: M2BP inhibits HIV-1 virion production in a vimentin filaments-dependent manner
IFN-induced M2BP expression is required for optimal IFN inhibition of HIV-1 replication.
A control shRNA (Ctrli) or an shRNA targeting M2BP (M2BPi) was stably expressed in MT4 cells. (A) Cells were treated with IFNα-2b and harvested at the time points indicated. Protein levels were measured by Western blotting. d.p.s.: days post stimulation. (B) Cells were infected with HIV-1NL4-3 virus for 3 h. The virus was removed and IFNα-2b was added to the medium. At the time points indicated, culture supernatants were collected and p24CA levels were measured to monitor viral replication.
