This image demonstrates the high sensitivity and contrast of MPI and the capability to perform long-term, in vivo biodistribution studies without the exponential loss of signal typical in nuclear medicine studies. However, as shown by the image of the lung, liver and spleen in Fig. 1, the spatial resolution of MPI is limited and a prime target for improvement. We demonstrate in this paper that the AWR enables high-throughput drive waveform optimization for better MPI resolution.
