Time series (A) and correlation (B,C) of daily averaged tropospheric NO2 VCDs in Beijing urban area during the periods around Parade. MAX-DOAS data (green square curves) are temporally averaged around the NASA OMI and USTC OMI overpass time (red circle curves and blue delta curves, respectively). While the OMI data are spatially averaged over the grid cells within 30km of the ground location around the Beijing urban area. The transparent blue square area represents the Parade period. And the grey shade square areas separately represent “Cycle 1” (Aug. 14th to 21st), “Cycle 2” (Sep. 6th to 9th) and “Cycle 3” (Sep. 12rd to 18th) of MAX-DOAS results.
