The data was obtained from refs 41, 42, 43, 44, 45, 46,50, 51, 52, 53, 54 and taken from the tension-tension fatigue experiments with R = 0.1, except for the data from Hess et al.45 who performed tension-compression fatigue experiments with R = −1. Note that the σa does not reflect the stress concentration factor at the notch root and is defined as the load amplitude divided by the reduced cross-sectional area.
