Increased α-SMA expression due to loss of TSC1.
(A) Liver tissue samples from oil- or CCl4− treated mice for 8 weeks were analyzed for α-SMA protein expression by western blot analysis. The expression of α-SMA was significantly increased in CCl4− treated TSC1 CKO mice. (B) IHC staining was performed with α-SMA in oil- and CCl4− treated mouse liver tissues. (C) α-SMA staining area in the liver was calculated by Image-Pro Plus 6.0. in six different images taken at 400x magnification on each slide. NS, p > 0.05; *p < 0.05 for TSC1 CKO vs. WT mice.
