(+)-Naloxone suppresses E. coli–induced pro-inflammatory cytokine expression in uterine decidua and myometrium.
Pregnant B6 mice were administered intrauterine heat-killed E. coli or PBS on gd 16.5, followed by (+)-naloxone or PBS i.p., and 4 hours later, uterine decidua and myometrium were recovered from the two adjacent implantation sites. Relative expression of Il1a (A,G), Il1b (B,H), Il6 (C,I), Tnf (D,J), Il10 (E,K) and Ptgs2 (F,L) mRNAs were determined in placenta (A–F) and fetal membranes (G–L) by qPCR and normalised to Actb.
