A model of MYO18A function in maintaining the stability of myofibers.
MYO18A is located at the Golgi apparatus through interaction of its PDZ domain with GOLPH3 and Golgin45. It also directly binds F-actin, which is connected to dystrophin. The interaction between MYO18A and p190RhoGEF, as well as Lurap1, regulates the organization of cytoskeleton and Golgi-mediated trafficking. Thus, MYO18A may link the Golgi apparatus to dystrophin through F-actin.
