  1. *The proportion of white colonies was 75.3 ± 3.2% on the blue-white screening plate, while 65.2% (30/46) white colonies possessed complete deletion of lacZ according PCR analysis (Supplementary Fig. 6). Hence, the final positivity rate for deletion of the complete lacZ gene was corrected by deducting the false-positive colonies (65.2% × 75.3 ± 3.2%). All results were obtained from three independent trials.
