Reaction times (RT) and Error rates (ER) during subtraction in men and women.

RT and ER were significantly higher for borrowing compared to non-borrowing items. RT, but not ER, were significantly higher for items with large compared to items with small distance between subtrahend and minuend. No significant sex differences were observed. The borrowing effect in ER was larger in men.
