(a–f) mRNA expressions of FXR, CAR, SHP, ASBT, CYP3A4, and FGF19 were significantly higher in the ileum compared to in the colon. (g) OSTα expressions were similar between the ileum and the ascending colon, and significantly lower in the sigmoid colon. (h) OSTβ mRNA was uniformly expressed in all three examined parts of the intestine. mRNA expression levels are presented as fold-change relative to controls, and normalized relative to glyceraldehyde 3-phosphate dehydrogenase (GAPDH).
