(A) Cells were exposed to 0.5 μg/ml STS or DMSO, or left untreated for 4 h, and were then analyzed by Western blotting. TRIM22 increased the cleavage of caspase-3 and caspase-9 and enhanced the release of cytochrome c. (B) TRIM22-overexpressing THP-1 cells were pre-incubated with the pan-caspase inhibitor Z-VAD-FMK (100 μM) for 1 h and then challenged with 0.5 μg/ml STS for 4 h.
