Formalin fixed and paraffin embedded sagittal sections from the cortex were co-stained using a rabbit polyclonal antibody to COXIV (green, left panel) and the anti-PrP monoclonal antibody 3F4 conjugated to biotin (red, middle panel) as detailed in the methods.
