The Ricci curvature scalar R for an open system with 16 randomly arranged, Gaussian-shaped metric perturbations of amplitude a0 = 0.1 and width r0 = 6. The colors illustrate the strength of the curvature, and the white lines represent the streamlines of the flow, driven by a pressure gradient of |P| = 5.8 × 10−6 with a kinematic viscosity of v = 0.185 (in numerical units). As can be seen, the flow streamlines are bent by the curvature.
