(A) Concentration of HO-1 protein was lower within PBC livers in comparison to controls. (B) HO-1 mRNA level, estimated by real-time PCR, was decreased in liver tissue of both cirrhotic PBC and early-stages PBC when compared to controls. The results were normalized to 18sRNA. (C) GCLC protein levels were assessed in liver tissue of cirrhotic PBC and controls and quantified relative to GAPDH. Bars indicate the mean ± SEM.
