The wild type strain of S. cerevisiae and an ira1Δ strain were transformed with an empty vector or with a vector expressing the madC gene. Ten-fold serial dilutions of the strains were plated on YPD medium. One plate was heat shocked at 50 °C for 120 min. The plates were then cultured 2 days at 30 °C.
