Mice received a renal pelvis injection of 10 μg of hyperactive piggyBac plasmid with 50 μg of either enhanced firefly luciferase (white bars, n = 4) or erythropoietin (black bars, n = 5) transposon, each expressed from the EF-1α promoter. The mice were bled at the number of days following the injection indicated on the graph to determine the haematocrit. *p < 0.05 by one-tailed Student’s t-test with unequal variance.
