For ta-C pairs, EHL conditions (λ > 3) are reached, as shown with the red circle, and ML conditions (1 < λ < 3) are shown with the dashed red circle. Only the ta-C friction pair shows superlubricity. The error bars (not represented for clarification) are about ±0.005 for friction values between 0.04 and 0.1 and ±0.003 for CoF below 0.01, respectively.
