Pure psychiatric presentation of cerebrotendinous xanthomatosis (CTX) occurs most often in childhood (childhood:⩽12 years; adolescence: 13 years⩽age⩽18 years; early adulthood: 19 years⩽age⩽26 years; late adulthood: age>26 years (patients, n=34).
