(a) Significant inverse correlations between fractional anisotropy (FA) values and axial diffusivity (AD) values for the body of the corpus callosum and serotonin transporter gene (SLC6A4) methylation at CpG3 were observed in medication-naive patients with MDD. (b) A significant inverse correlation between the FA values for the genu of the corpus callosum and SLC6A4 methylation at CpG4 was observed in healthy controls. In addition, a significant positive correlation between the RD values for the genu of the corpus callosum and SLC6A4 methylation at CpG4 was observed in healthy controls.
