In-gap quasiparticle excitations induced by non-magnetic Cu impurities in Na(Fe_0.96Co_0.03Cu_0.01)As revealed by scanning tunnelling spectroscopy

In superconductors with sign-preserving pairing symmetries, Cooper pairs break when they scatter off magnetic impurities but not non-magnetic impurities. An observation of pair breaking by copper impurities in Na(Fe_0.96Co_0.03Cu_0.01)As demonstrates that its pairing symmetry is sign-reversed.

Close relationship between superconductivity and the bosonic mode in Ba_0.6K_0.4Fe₂As₂ and Na(Fe_0.975Co_0.025)As

Different experimental probes have found different bosonic modes in the iron-based superconductors. A scanning tunnelling spectroscopy study of two separate superconductors now links the tunnelling mode with the ‘neutron resonance’, both of which vanish when superconductivity disappears.

Observation of ordered vortices with Andreev bound states in Ba_0.6K_0.4Fe₂As₂

The mystery of the missing bound states within a superconducting vortex in a pnictide superconductor has been solved. Not only are bound states present, they also provide information on the gap structure of Ba_0.6K_0.4Fe₂As₂.

Tunable quantum criticalities in an isospin extended Hubbard model simulator

Using an experimental simulator of the extended Hubbard model with spin–valley isospins arising in chiral-stacked twisted double bilayer graphene, the presence of highly tunable quantum criticalities is demonstrated.

Directly visualizing the sign change of d-wave superconducting gap in Bi₂Sr₂CaCu₂O_8+δ by phase-referenced quasiparticle interference

The superconducting gap structure contains important information to understand the pairing mechanism of unconventional superconductivity. Here, by using a newly established phase-referenced quasiparticle interference technique, the authors visualize the sign change of the d-wave superconducting gap directly in Bi₂Sr₂CaCu₂O_8+δ.
