Earthquake-induced landslides and wetter climate significantly increase sediment and export of organic carbon yields, indicating that the link between hydroclimate and the organic carbon cycle may act as negative feedback in the longer-term carbon cycle, according to reconstructions of lake sedimentary fills in the Southern Alps, New Zealand.
