Multimodal DNA methylation and transcriptome profiling of single glioma cells links tumor cell transcriptional states to epigenetics via interaction with PRC2 and shows that these states are heritable and important for tumor plasticity.

Influence of area-level social vulnerability on all-cause pneumonia incidence among adult Medicare and Medicaid enrollees

Mohanty et al. examine the link between county-level Minority Health Social Vulnerability Index and rates of all-cause pneumonia, pneumococcal pneumonia, and invasive pneumococcal disease from 2016 to 2019 among publicly insured U.S. adults. Findings show that pneumococcal disease rates are higher in the most socially vulnerable counties.

Mutually stabilizing interactions between proto-peptides and RNA

Cooperative relationships are widespread among different classes of biopolymers and are predicted to have existed during emergence of life. This study shows that proto-peptides engage in mutually stabilizing interactions with RNA, providing support for the co-evolution of these molecules.
