Lithium aluminum titanium phosphate is a crystalline electrolyte that offers fast Li+ diffusion pathways, but is known to form a mixed-conducting interphase upon contact with lithium metal, potentially impacting battery performance. Here, 7Li nuclear magnetic resonance is used to investigate changes in Li+ diffusivity upon chemical lithiation, mimicking the structural and dynamic changes that occur within a lithium metal battery.
