  • Butafulvene is a constitutional isomer of benzene, comprising a cyclobutene skeleton bearing two exocyclic conjugated methylene units. Strategies for the synthesis of butafulvene compounds are currently limited due to its intrinsic high strain energy and anti-aromaticity.
