Controlling anisotropic droplet shapes on heterogeneous surfaces is crucial for many industrial applications, yet a robust model for precisely depicting these highly anisotropic shapes remains elusive. By introducing a contour curve concept, the authors developed a universal, high-precision model to address the complex morphologies of sessile droplets on arbitrarily heterogeneous surfaces, providing a cost-effective method for achieving intricate droplet morphologies through pre-designed surface modifications.
