Surface tension phenomena are crucial in determining the properties of confined nanosystems. Here, the impact of surface tension on polarization states in ferroelectric nanorods is investigated, demonstrating the surface-tension-tailored occurrence of distinct vortex and uniform phases with different spatial topologies.
