UniKP: a unified framework for the prediction of enzyme kinetic parameters

Prediction of enzyme kinetic parameters is essential for designing and optimising enzymes for various biotechnological and industrial applications. Here, authors presented a prediction framework (UniKP), which improves the accuracy of predictions for three enzyme kinetic parameters.

Fully integrated multi-mode optoelectronic memristor array for diversified in-sensor computing

This study reports a fully integrated 128 × 8 optoelectronic memristor array with Si complementary metal–oxide–semiconductor circuits, featuring configurable multi-mode functionality. It demonstrates diversified in-sensor computing tasks and consumes 20 times less energy than GPUs.

The integration of two-dimensional semiconductors and arbitrary materials or architectures offers the possibility to enhance the functionality of a material and improve device performance. Now, a general synthesis route is reported for heteroepitaxial growth of semiconducting 2H-MoTe₂ films on arbitrary single-crystal substrates and three-dimensional architectures without the limitation of lattice matching and a planar surface.

Scavenger receptor-A is a biomarker and effector of rheumatoid arthritis: A large-scale multicenter study

Scavenger receptor-A (SR-A) is mostly expressed by myeloid cells and has been attributed a variety of biological functions. Here the authors assess SR-A as a biomarker for diagnosis of rheumatoid arthritis (RA) using large-scale training and validation cohorts and show that modulating SR-A levels can alter progression of collagen-induced arthritis in mice.

A genome-wide association study in Han Chinese identifies a susceptibility locus for primary Sjögren's syndrome at 7q11.23

Jing Wang, Fengchun Zhang and colleagues report the results of a genome-wide association study of primary Sjögren's syndrome, a common autoimmune disease. They confirm associations in the STAT4, TNFAIP3 and HLA regions and identify a new susceptibility locus in the GTF2I region at 7q11.23.

S100A8/A9 promotes endometrial fibrosis via regulating RAGE/JAK2/STAT3 signaling pathway

A study on clinical tissue specimens and a porcine model reveals that S100A8/A9 mediates endometrial stromal cell fibrosis and IUA by activating the RAGE-JAK2-STAT3 pathway. These effects can be ameliorated through MenSCs transplantation.
