The structure of a triple complex of plant photosystem I with ferredoxin and plastocyanin

The structure of a complex of native plant photosystem I, its electron donor plastocyanin and acceptor ferredoxin, has been solved using a new cryo-EM technique, revealing the contact sites and modes of interaction between the interacting electron carriers.

Structure of the plant photosystem I supercomplex at 2.6 Å resolution

In thylakoid membranes, photosystem I (PSI) forms a supercomplex with its light-harvesting antenna, light-harvesting complex I (LHC1). This crystal structure of plant PSI–LHCI shows details of the configuration of PsaK and integral networks of water molecules and lipids.

Structure of a minimal photosystem I from the green alga Dunaliella salina

The photosystem I light-harvesting complex from the salt-tolerant green alga Dunaliella salina has a core configuration composed of only seven subunits. This unusual molecular organization could inform the reconstruction of photosystem evolution.

Dimeric and high-resolution structures of Chlamydomonas Photosystem I from a temperature-sensitive Photosystem II mutant

Caspy et al. report the structure of PSI from a temperature-sensitive photoautotrophic PSII mutant of Chlamydomonas reinhardtii (TSP4), and report the distribution of conserved water molecules in the structure from cyanobacterial to higher plant PSI. They suggest that the asymmetric distribution of water molecules near the electron transfer chain modulates the electron transfer from quinones to FX.

This study reports the structure of a photosystem I assembly intermediate isolated from greening oat seedlings. It defines PsaF as a regulatory checkpoint promoting the association of LHCI that couples biogenesis to function.
