MIRO2-mediated mitochondrial transfer from cancer cells induces cancer-associated fibroblast differentiation

Cangkrama et al. show that tumor cells from various cancer types use the mitochondrial trafficking protein MIRO2 and nanotubes to transfer mitochondria into surrounding fibroblasts, thereby inducing cancer-associated fibroblast differentiation and subsequent tumor growth.

Hypoxia-induced conversion of sensory Schwann cells into repair cells is regulated by HDAC8

HDAC8 counteracts the conversion of sensory Schwann cells into their repair phenotype by controlling hypoxia-induced c-Jun upregulation after injury. Ablating HDAC8 accelerates the regrowth of sensory axons and the recovery of the sensory function.

mTORC1 controls Golgi architecture and vesicle secretion by phosphorylation of SCYL1

The molecular mechanisms regulating remyelination are unclear. Here, the authors show that promoting deacetylation of eEF1A1 prevents the translocation of Sox10 outside the nucleus, contributing to maintaining the expression of Sox10 target genes and increasing remyelination efficiency.
