Schill, Bijata, Kopach et al. show that 5-HT4R activation leads to maturation of dendritic spines in hippocampal neurons via G13/RhoA signaling. The dendritic changes are complemented with corresponding changes in excitatory transmission, suggesting a role for 5-HT4R in dendritic spine remodeling.
