The paper reports temperature measurements of water freezing into ice VII under quasi-isentropic compression. The results demonstrate that the freezing sample exists in a mixed phase on the melt line well above 7 GPa, which challenges the hypercooling picture based on previous experiments and corresponding kinetic models.
