Coyle et al. utilize urinary metabolomics analysis to predict dying over the last 30 days of life in patients with lung cancer and provide insights into the dying process. The metabolite model provides prognostic information at the end of life allowing for the early recognition of people who may be dying and improve the care of these patients.
