From the same supramolecular framework to distinct types of porous liquids via in-situ transformation

Porous liquids show potential as material for carbon dioxide capture but their controlled synthesis remains challenging. Here the authors report a controlled in-situ transformation strategy to fabricate distinct types of porous liquids from one type of supramolecular framework.

Porous materials with pre-designed single-molecule traps for CO₂ selective adsorption

The synthesis of porous materials designed with specific applications in mind is fundamentally challenging. Here, the authors fabricate single-molecule trap cavities designed for complimentary interactions with CO₂ and show that these traps can be assembled into materials with high CO₂selectivity.

Enhancing oxidation resistance of Cu(I) by tailoring microenvironment in zeolites for efficient adsorptive desulfurization

Zeolite Cu(I)Y is attractive for adsorptive removal of sulfur compounds from fuel, however practical application is limited by instability of Cu(I). Here the authors use a coating to achieve superhydrophobicity in the zeolite, leading to improved Cu(I) stability against oxidation and thiophene removal.
