Anxiety chemosignals increase cognitive performance and enhance sensory acquisition behavior, however, their impact on odor sensitivity is unknown. Here, the authors utilized a combination of behavioral experiments and chemical analyses to explore odor sensitivity to phenylethyl alcohol (PEA) and n-butanol after exposure to both anxiety and neutral chemosignals, revealing increased odor sensitivity for PEA.
