While the development of weakly coordinating anions received much attention, the progress on weakly coordinating and inert solvents almost stagnated. Here the authors report that strategic F-substitution of fluorobenzene solvents strongly increases the redox potentials of Ag+ and NO+ salts and tolerates high potentials of perfluorinated radical cations.
