Porcine deltacoronavirus (PDCoV) is an emerging pig pathogen that has recently been detected in humans. Here, the authors demonstrate that neutralizing antibodies against PDCoV target cryptic sites that are concealed in the pre-fusion spike protein trimer but revealed following conformational changes.
